Looks really nice, what are your plans for the inside?  I would like to build something like this someday.

I ordered all steel from menards.  I have matching corners not installed and white gable trim. I will post more pictures as soon as they are installed.

Thanks all for the comments! This site is an awesome information tool to make fishing more enjoyable. I will be putting in a nuwave wood burner. I am up in the UP getting my place ready for winter and when I get home going to finish my shanty and make the next trip with it behind the vehicle! Been here since Saturday and it has snowed everyday...getting the urge!!!

Well Done & Welcome to IS. Just out of curiosity, how much does your shack weigh?

we are estimating the shack weighs around 600lbs.  When I complete it this weekend I am taking it up to the U P for its final destination.  I will then be able to weigh it at work when I get it on the trailer to find out exactly the weight.

I'm curious to know what you're gonna do to the interior?

I will take some pictures this weekend when I finish the inside. I have a wood burning stove mounted but not really sure about seating. I am going to use it this year and figure that out. Will post as soon as I finish.

Did you use 2x2's for all the rafters and if so what was your spacing.

Great looking shack. I am also thinking of building one. I noticed the skids are permanently mounted. How do you deal with the wind blowing underneath it and the gap between the floor and the ice. Hope these are not stupid questions.
Thanks

Hello all, I need some help.  I just built this and wondering if anyone knows of permanent mounted jacks that I could mount on the corners to lift the shack when needed so it won't freeze in.  I never planned for this but hoping I can find something that mounts exterior on the side walls to lift the shack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have catch covers installed and I bought the 9" inserts to meet up with the hole.  I don't have to worry about wind or the hole freezing.

You lift the house up and put wood blocks under the skids forget about jacking it up on all corners

well, my shanty made it to the UP of Michigan but the house we purchased in July is not winter ready.  We have baseboard heating and the bills are extremely high.  We are going to put a furnace in next year but will have to winterize this week, with that being said, I am thinking of selling this shanty I just built but never used.  I have about 2300.00 in materials and accessories.  If anyone is a bit interested please let me know.  Still undecided what to do at this point.
