Burnett Pond in Savoy
« on: Dec 29, 2013, 03:48 PM »
I hit the Pond with two buddies for a few hours late this AM.

There was about 4 inches of black ice.  Most of the time it was cloudy, with temps in the upper 30's, and an intermittent stiff breeze.  We left around 2 PM when it started to rain.

All together, we caught 5 pickerel (on the 4 tipups and 8 leftover shiners that I brought) and about 20 perch (on jigs) (with about 8 worth keeping).  All in all, a decent if not spectacular day out.

Lunch featured Italian-sausage-patties-with-cheddar "cheese burgers," salad, turkey & pumpkin soup, green apples, sriracha-covered peas and wasabi-covered peanuts and chocolate chip cookies, washed down with chocolate swizzle-nog and coffee.
