Drill Attachment for Hand Auger

Has anybody used one of those attachments that you can use a power drill for you hand auger?  How do they work?  I can't afford a gas auger and am sick of hand drilling all my holes!

Just started reading all the posts in the equipment thread. Came across this one and it gave an idea.
 Went down cellar and found a piece of heavy duty tubing. Took a 3/8" allen wrench and cut the L off. The tubing had 2 dimples in it so the allen wrench fit snuggly inside. Then I drilled 2 holes thru the tubing and allen wrench at 90 degree angles. Put roll pins in the holes to secure the tubing and wrench together. 
 Next I cut a 7" circle out of 1/4" plywood for a safety stop. Slide the plywood on the tubing up to one of the roll pins. Cut a piece of plastic pipe for a bushing to hold the plywood tight between the auger and the roll pin. Drilled a hole thru the tubing for the wing bolt that holds the auger to the handle. Now I am ready to use my 18 volt dewalt drill to make some holes. Will post pics after I make sure it works.

Just tried out the attachment I made for my auger. Holy sheeet did it cut ice. I drilled 5 holes thru 10" of ice in seconds. I was very surprised at how well it worked .

Thought I would bring this thread back to the top. Just in case someone was thinking about the cordless drill option.
 Very easy to make. Just besure to cut the roll pins just below the drill chuck flush with the shaft. Got my glove caught on it last year and dam near broke my finger (still is not right).

or if your not as good fabricating metal the nimrod adapter for $20 w/ free shipping in gander mtn. i just had a 7in. steel 1/8in. disk welded to the adapter to keep it from falling down the hole. put it on my bosch 18v w/ a $30 eskimo 6in. bit and its a drilling machine! whole thing weighs  about 12lbs. great for early season and walk in ponds.

I've been using Ice Master, I prototyped the adapter for the Nils hand Auger a few years back, works great on my 8" Nils

I've had mine for 3 years now. Works amazing, 6" laser and a 20volt craftsman drill.
