OLD Bamboo spinning rod?? Pics added

Mods....  I know this does not belong here but I did not see anywhere else to put it and Myfishfinder is almost dead over there.  I was looking for an answer quick before I give it away for a Christmas gift.

Hey guys I have recently come across a old bamboo rod and have been doing some research on it.  I believe it is around 100 years old  I really cant find anything on the value of the rod or even much of the history.  the only thing that I have found was an old ad of the exact rod on ebay dating it to 1912.  Cant find anything else at all.   

Right now I cant find my camera to post pictures but I will ASAP.

The name of the rod is a:    Borneo. 
Its maker is:    Marshall - Wells Hardware Co. 
It is labeled as a salmon & weakfish Rod
It is either made of split Cane bamboo or Borneo cane
the date says 1912 in the add.

Is it round or octagone ? I bought some bamboo rods over the summer at a yard s and forgot about them until I read your post I have 2 that are octagone and 2 that are round,the round ones I'm not sure they are bamboo,I always thought they were suposed to be octagone if they were made from bamboo I'm going to dig them out and do some research while I'm at it I will see if I can find any info for you

Bigcrew it is more or less octagon but has different shapes

did a little research on Marshall - Wells Hardware Co, couldnt find anything about fishing gear but other items from them seem to be quite collectable

yeah  I found some of the same stuff you probably did.  The only thing I really found that had fishing stuff on it was an Ad somebody from Europe was selling that had most of the info on it that I found.  on the Ad it said that was 7.50 back in 1912.
