Maffitt Reservoir

Anyone had any luck at the Dale Maffitt Reservoir lately? Read up on some pretty harsh opinions all saying the fishing itself sucks (open and ice), but that there are nice nice fish in there.  Curious if its even worth trying

The water is really clear, there's no structure, almost all flats. Hard to find the fish.  You definitely can't catch them if you don't try, but its definitely tough fishing IMO.  Good luck!  I'd suggest the most Southeast cove.

I caught a ton of short fish out of there last winter. Bluegill, Crappie, and a few LMB .  Bite was good, but I didn't catch anything at all that I would consider a keeper.  Fished the weed edge off the point - north-east side of the dam.  Then fished out in 15 FOT, east shore-line, middle of lake.  That place gets next to no pressure..it HAS to have some nice fish in it somewheres!  Good luck!

A bad day of fishing is better then a good day at work!

I have heard the ice can be sketchy on the lake as they also use it for water supply.  Haven't ever personally fished it.  Good luck and keep us posted if you make it out there.
