Nip on Wednesday
« on: Feb 12, 2014, 03:05 PM »
Ok day.   7 bass , 2 pickerel and a bazillion perch.    2 bass were 4.5 lbs but rest were small.  Kinda surprised that we didn't see a biggie.   Fished out back in 5 feet     Weather was ideal and ice was 3 white on top of 4-5 black.   Kiss this ice goodbye

Do you really think tomorrow's storm will wipe out the ice in southeast MA?

It will wipe it out at the nip.   Still areas with two layers of ice and a few slushy spots under snow.    Places that froze solid after last snow/ rain may be ok.    There is a lot of cruddy ice at the nip.    At long pond in lakeville last Saturday , we had great ice that will probably make it through the windy rain.   I'll post what the nip looks like Friday

Ay it was a good day regardless.. We caught plenty of fish, and we've seen enough good fish taken from there this season..Still surprised we didn't see anything over 5lbs today too.

Any place that got a lot of rain at end of last storm, had really good ice that might withstand this and maybe the 50--60 degree temps toward the end of the week thru the weekend.   You have to realize that those temps will do in crud ice quickly.    All ice in the se part of the state is going to be white after all this rain.   Be carefull!!!!
