Slow day at the Mile Friday
« on: Dec 20, 2013, 05:42 PM »
Ice was 14" thick. Water clarity is much better than the last time I was there which was eleven days ago. Saw ten times as many fish but I only saw one the last time I was out. ;D
Fished between 5' and 8' of water, 7 AM to 1 PM. Caught three trout. Each on chartreuse, pink, and pearl. 15" the biggest. Caught two pike between 8:05 AM and 8:20 AM which is
early for me. Largest 5 lbs. in 8 fow. The pressure ridge I noticed December 9th doesn't seem to be in the same spot or possibly not as prominent due to the warmer weather. Beautiful
morning. The "W" didn't start till after 11 AM but not strong enough to have to screw down the shelter. Tight lines and Happy Hollandaise!

I'm glad to hear the water clarity is improving. It's a good time when you can sight fish them in the shack.

Where were you at on the mile?  I was fishing Stoll Mt. for the same times that you were out. Fishing was sllloooww.  Started at around 8ft and ended in 15ft. Only iced 2 cutties. One on white and one on a orange tube. Guess I should of moved in and not out as I moved around. What did you catch your pike on?

I was in the Rogers Mt. area. All I use for pike are suckers.
