Milwaukee harbor, need help
« on: Nov 21, 2013, 05:54 PM »
Hi guys and gals. I'm from Iowa. Die hard hardwater fisherman. Looking at coming that direction to try for steelies and browns thru the ice. Any info you guys could give would be great. I've fished the salmon run so I'm familiar with the area some what. What methods do you guys use? Any recommendations for gear? I am geared for gills and crappies. Like I said, completely new to big fish thru the ice. Thanks for any help. Tyler

I use slammers or tip ups rigged with shiners or span sacks.  I also fish down at McKinley Marina by the piers. I like slammers because I like fighting the fish on a rod.

Hi, I'm from PA. and will be visiting some family in the Milwaukee area around the middle of January and would love to try to catch some steelies and browns through the ice. But I'm completely new to the area. I was wondering if some one can give me some tips on it, places, equipment, bait, techniques, etc. I'm mainly set up for panfish as well and don't have much in the way of big fish gear. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
