Do portable huts if taken down every night in Indiana still need to have name and address on them?

That is the $1000 question. I used to [still have it somewhere] carry a letter from the IDNR that said portables DID NOT have to do the name and address thing. Others have stated [I believe them] that the CO on the ice talking to you can use his own judgement...like give you a ticket.? SSSSOOOO I put my name and address on my shanty's, but I can't say it's in 3" freaking block letters...
There did that not answer the question for you...lol

I just created a printout with my info on it.  Laminated it and when I put shanty up hang it off the zipper and flip it around backward so no one can read it.  If they want to read it they can approach and flip it over.  Have been checked by CO's before and none every said a word about it that this was no sufficient.  No way I am putting 3 inch block letters on my portable with my name and address...that is just broadcasting to everyone that you are not home.

Good idea wax_worm. In Iowa there isn't a law like this "that I know of" and I've been checked multiple times. they have bigger fish to fry. lol...As mentioned above there is no way in heck I'm putting 3" block letters on my hut. I will make sure to have a spare beer always around if I get checked and he is mad I don't have my name and address.

I agree with you wax-worm...the way it is now crooks are just looking for an easy place to rob..3" block letters with address is just to easy for them...I put my PO Box # on my shanty...they can break in to that any time..its just bills anyway  ;D
