I drove next to this lake probably 10 times this summer on Co Rd A but never actually saw much of the lake. Is it decent fishing? I had some fields that were in my study that were very near here but never actually had time to get to the lake.

I'd hope to make it to the outing as well.

I ice fish fox lake when ever I get the chance, you can get on some nice sized crappies (10" to 12"), if you get on smaller ones - move. The DNR seems to be trying to make this a trophy lake. Northern have to be 32", and you can only keep 1, Large mouth bass 18", bag limit 1, walleye 18" bag limit 3. I just got into walleye fishing last winter, only caught one over 18", but have seen big walleyes (28" +) get pulled out. Here's a link to the Wisconsin DNR "Fox Lake site, look under "fishing regulations" http://dnr.wi.gov/lakes/lakepages/LakeDetail.aspx?wbic=835800.

Also, I don't know how many people know this but all lake typo maps for Wisconsin are available here for free http://dnr.wi.gov/lakes/maps/

If you have a PDF making program that you can print to you can save the file in high detail and print one out when ever you need them.

Second what you guys are saying. This lake is a great crappie lake to take anyone who is interested in trying ice fishing. Usually a great bite. If your looking for a meal or to take someone new fishing, Fox is a good lake to start with. You may not limit out on 12+" Crappies, but you'll have fun just catching numbers.

Take care and tight lines.

Thanks guys! Probably have to head that way then. Where's the most common places to get on the ice? Not too concerned with fishing spots, just safe places to get on since we're new and don't know about springs or other crazy details that most locals have in the back of their mind...

Fox Lake access

Boat House (Bar and Restaurant) N10575 Chief Kuno Trail Fox Lake, WI 53933

Hayes Resort W10551 Blackhawk Trail Fox Lake, WI 53933

Town Park is located on Blackhawk Trail, on the northwest corner of the lake. N11100-N11199 Blackhawk Trail Fox Lake, WI 53933

Perhaps others can chime in here with other access points.

Be careful around maple point there is an aerator out there. Does anyone have GPS coordinates for the aerator system?

Free public access is the county park on NW side of lake off Blackhawk Trail. Other access point can be the Boathouse on Chief Kuno Trail and they have a fee but have parking and food. Landing is also cleaned and taken care of.

Glad I found this, not sure if a date has been set. I am in and will probably bring a friend or two I am trying to get them into ice fishing. Has a date been set yet?

no date set as of now. will try to do that after the new year. then we are sure of having safe ice.

The aerator area is generally flagged and roped off so its very apparent. The area is quite large and some guys park outside and walk inside the ropes to fish. Don't kn ow if it makes a difference but I've seen it done..........

To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!
