I've been using them for years. The older one's are better than the new one's. But that goes for most things nowadays. If you can find the older one's that have the soldered on spools they seem to last forever, unless someone runs them over. If you look on the big e auction site and craigslist you will come across some. The new version has a lock nut on the bottom that hold the spool on for easier maintenance. They should last you quite a while too if you take care of them.

Never have used them, but from what I have read on here, they have quite a following and are a quality piece of equipment.  I have seen a few at a flea market in town for about 15-20 bucks that I might pick up to try out.

I am getting the new camo ones and was wondering if they were worth the money.

That's pretty much up to you and how much you like the camo one's. I thought about getting my son one. But at $10 more a piece than the regular version I haven't made up my mind. Whatever version you get I'm sure you will be happy with it.

Camouflage would be white, correct?
There's a fine line between fishing and standing on the ice looking like an idiot.
