I remember about 4 years ago seeing an old timer using on of these with a tiny jig and killing the bluegills. most were shorts, but he was hitting them every minute. There is probably something to it with tiny jigs. I am going to try an old fly reel this year on a homemade rigger-type tip up. Figure i could set a very light drag and palm it when I fight the fish.
Those "old school" or over seas rods are GREAT!!! I've got a few palm rods and ordering more like the one you posted don't even use my high $ customs that much now BC they out fish everything
