I love my okuma slv 2/3 fly reels for shallow water tight lining.  That's what is on my power noodle.  If going deeper I have been using pflueger president 6920/6720 but going to try the new 13 tear drop and Eagle Claw multiplier this season.

Any of the shimano 500 series will do just fine. I use the saharas and symetre which are more money compared to the sienna and sedona. Smooth drag and reliability is what I usually look for and shimano does that for me.

For under 30 bucks there are some decent spinning reels like shiminos sienna and sedona, Mitchell avocet or pflueger trion.  If wanting a straight line the clam spooler isn't to bad or the eagle claw.  I would prolly choose the EC there if going deeper than 10-15 ft.

Put something nice on there. You spent the money on a custom rod which is great. You don't have to break the bank the pflueger presidents can be had for $50, and I am just using that as an example not saying put that on. For $40-$60 you could have a great setup with that rod. Just my $.02.

I fish in fifty to one hundred feet of water for lake trout that go over forty pounds (that other guys catch any way).  I jig all the time. I need a very good relable drag that is adjustable.  I have three Okuma centrific pro magdna's and love them more than my auger and fish finder combined.  Reels have a line counter that is excellent. Price, about forty dollars.  They come in a couple sizes, I like the 30 better than the larger 45.  Handles flurocarbon line real well in the cold.

Gander Mountian Profesionals, I swear by them. If you are looking for an inline though go with a redington rise.

Shimano Sienna 500 (or 1000 if you're targetting bigger fish) can be found for $30 (sometimes less on certain sites).

or

Pflueger Trion (can be found for $30 with 2 spools which can be nice to put Mono/Flouro on one and Braid on the other for deep water applications - no stretch)
