I have a Lowrance Mark 4 on my sled, only $200. I have the Navonics platinum chip for it. I hook it up with a single cable to use it as a GPS only on the sled, works great. I keep the regular cable on the boat to use it as Fishfinder/GPS for open water.

Hey Bart where did you find the cord for the GPS only. I've been looking to do the same thing for my ATV but don't want the transducer pinging.

Thanks Appleye

Deweyicefish, you have to purchase the Navonics separately and a correction, I bought the premium chip.

appleye, you can find the cord on the Lowrance site.(PC24U) http://lr.factoryoutletstore.com/Category/CategoryListNoCache.aspx?category_id=0&autocomplete=true&search_term=Lowrance%20PC24U

For a smart phone they have an app thats pretty cool. They seem to be more geared to apple than android. Here's a cool link to there web app that I found. Click on the circle with the sound waves and check out the detail. Really nice for finding spots.

To be honest with you, I don't know?  I did purchase the NavPlanner2 to put the Navonics Maps on my computer to view, search, print, and waypoint planning at home. It does say PC requirements, Microsoft Windows 7/ Vista/XP. As Curley says, I heard there is an App for a smartphone for like $5. Don't know how detailed the maps are, like the 1 ft. contour with certain lakes with the premium chip?
