If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Try spooling up with yarn until you get the hang of it. I started behind the eight ball by learning to use a baitcaster in college. I'm right handed and use a left hand drive so I can use my strong hand to fight the fish.. Love the rubber frog, sluggo, and top water custom plugs...
The portable birds nest is madness but you can fight some serious fish with it...
Never fished salt water with it..
