That's all I use for my wire leaders for all game fish. I make up leaders of 18"-24" for Pike fishing because at that length it has the perfect stretch for those viscous head shakes.

I just placed an order for some 12lb and 20lb test. What size do you use? Is it as tieable as advertised?

I tried some 15lb Boa Malin No Kink this weekend, and had 4 break offs on the hookset.  I think I might have tied the knots too tight ??? Used clinch knots and tightened both tag ends at the same time with pliers until it stopped stretching. No further.  All 4 knots broke at the barrel swivel with most of the knot still on the swivel.  Wrong time of year to be experimenting with new gear.

When I started using it I tied the wire according to the manufacturers recommendations, however I did not feel like it was a good connection. I never had any problem with the tied connection, but after making steel leaders for over 30 years I felt more comfortable using a barrel crimp. At first I was worried that the stretchable wire would pull out of the crimp when it stretched so I started tying a double knot on the tag end. The double knot was far enough from the tag end and allowed me to crimp over the knot which then locked it all together.

I am into my 3rd year using this wire and have yet to have any problems with it. It does kink up after a while from fighting fish, but not like the single or seven strand wire I used for many years. I still use flouro and single strand steel for certain situations, but the Knot2Kinky wire is pretty amazing. All my multistrand leaders are now made of either titanium or the Knot2Kinky wire.

I'm using 20 lb. Boa and have caught numerous pike on it before it broke. I use a simple clinch knot, wrap four times around and cinch it with hemostats. You're pulling too tight with the
pliers. You don't want pull until they stop stretching. Leave about 1/2" to 3/4" tag and the knot slightly loose. The first fish will tighten it further but not as much as using pliers.

I was going to stop sooner with the pliers, but figured a fish would take it to the same point.  Next time I will tie them looser.  I will have to try it again next year, and go with a little heavier test.  15lb was all they had, but I would like to try something in the 20-30lb range.

The figure eight is what I use in rock climbing, and would probably be easier to tie. I'll give it a try, thanks.
