The game plan was to fish Saturday this week and try and get the pre storm bite but it just didn't work out that way so I had to settle for sunday. I was looking all week for a sled and finally pulled the trigger Friday night. I got a great deal but it wasn't running right, wouldn't idle and needed the choke on. With that said I knew I needed to spend Saturday working on it and hopefully have it ready for sunday and this weeks vacation. Lucky for me waterfowler is my boss and a great yamaha mechanic and showed me how to take the carbs off and clean the jets. Bingo......... about 7 on Saturday night I had a lean, mean, running machine THANKS WATERFOWLA
Now the fishing part, sundays trip included me and Jr with two guys that helped me coach baseball this year and their boys that played with Jr. We had 4 kids and 3 adults. None of the boys besides Jr had ever ice fished. We left kinda late and got to the big pond at and and set up about 930 and fished till 130. The action started fast and lasted till around 12 or so with flags flying. All the kids caught fish. The total for the day was one laker and 5 whites. All were caught on tip ups in 30-35 fow on smelt. Best trip of the year for me so far and cant wait to get them all out again. I didn't fish at all but that was fine with me, the kids had a blast and that was well worth it. Pictures tell a thousand words....
