season over
« on: Mar 08, 2013, 04:19 PM »
Looks like its all over.  55 in sioux city with an inch of rain on the way tonight into tomorrow and even sunday.  Ice is 6-10" depending on where you go.........but will be gone after this weekend..........or unsafe at best.

So open water here I come!!!

Be careful if you go out at all anytime soon, wear a flotation device! I was out on Tuesday and there was a crust with a void of 2-3" between the ice. Pretty spooky when you think you're going through!

Yesterday was my last and I had to go North to do that.  Ice in the middle of the state is not to my comfort level and if we get an inch of rain tonite it will kinda open some things up.

Fished brushy yesterday and was able to drive out but funding is going to keep me from traveling to fish the rest of the season so I'm probably done.

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

Steady rain and forty degrees now in IC, expected to go on all day.

Even though the decent ice on the deeper part of ponds down here might last a couple more days, getting on and off would be tricky at best. I'm done in SE Iowa til next December.

See you all then.
