Bucket vs. basket
« on: Feb 08, 2013, 09:59 PM »
Have only been ice fishing for about 4 years and started out keeping my tip ups in a 5gallon bucket along with scoop and jiggin' poles. I carry 5 Heritage Lakers and three poles. I was considering a pack basket and would like to hear your thougjts on which you like better. Also any ideas you have for getting all the gear organized in the sled. THANKS

I don't use a bucket or basket. Everything lays length wise in my jet sled. I have 5 polars, 5 heritage lakers, 2 panfish poles, 2 laker poles, a chair, 2 flat tackleboxes, 10 foam hole covers, a seat cusion, a shappell hub shanty and power auger packed into this sled.  Been doing this for years with no problems.

I know there is a bucket lenthwise under the hub shanty in the photo but its been replace by the chair.

We incorporate milk crates to contain our stuff in our JetSleds. Everything from Vexilars to Cameras to our Stanlet Thermos can fit in the milk crate.  And bungee cordes always attach to the crates where ever you need them to grab. My 2 cents. Hope this helps.
