just got back from our yearly trip with Tim Hales huts always has you on fish.only problem this year was tons of little ones in three days and 4 guys caught around 700-800 to keep 300 with most around 8 inches.we had a couple 11 and probably 25 around 9.minnows on halis or gold tear drop was best bait in 32 foot of water, never more then 15 minutes without fish under us.lots and lots of dang herring 12-15 inches long but didn't really want to catch them.all in all great time again even with the 18 inches of snow they got friday and can't wait til next year and hope theyall grow up.

Sounds like a good time.  How long did it take you to drive there?  Have you tried the Cooks Bay area, and if so, is it worth the longer drive to Beaverton?  I've never been to Lake Simcoe, but want to go sometime and would appreciate any ideas from people who ice fish there.  Thanks.

7 hours from bronson.cooks bay is good in january then they move deeper cooks being shallower is more hit and miss, deeper water has always produced for us just not the size this year.its fun in cooks though you can see them if your 18 foot and shallower.
