Moving back to Nord Dakota.
« on: Jan 30, 2013, 06:13 AM »
Well I'll be moving back to Nord Dakota to the Bismarck area from around Kalispell MT at the end of March, going to miss the mild winters here in MT. Lived in the Minot area for many years and know the lakes and sloughs well around there but hardly at all around Bismarck. Luckily my wife has some friends around the area that are eager to take me fishing so I don't have to learn the area cold. As I learn the area I will try to post what I find next season without revealing any secret spot that were shown to me.

Good luck with the move. I know the winters can be pretty grim sometimes in ND. My in-laws lived quite a ways south and east of Bismarck. Too many medical probs and needed to move them somewhere closer to one of the "kids". Anyway, I found the fishing/catching surprisingly good out that way. Even got the father in law to go with me sometimes when we visited and he is not a fisherman. Hope it goes well with you out there.

There is a bunch of really good small lakes and sloughs E/NE/SE of Bismarck right now.  High water has been great for fishing!  Welcome back to NoDak...

Good luck!  I work over in Williston area and foud out that ICESHANTY is not that popular however found that some use fishingbuddy more however neither site is that great.  Maybe you can convince your new friends to join up and pass the word about how good iceshanty is.

Know all about fishingbuddy!  Use to haunt that place on a regular bases until people were threatening other people with mayhem for putting on "good and factual" fishing reports. Now days you need to be on someones buddy list to get private fishing reports and you have to wade through a ton of political crap to find a few good articles.

I'm not the one that noticed that FB crew is a little crazy?  Lots of attacks and such for putting down real reports to the public.  They HATE anybody from the oil field too.  I try to give good reports there and here and on MFF.

Oh FB yes I don't miss that site.  I've been out spreading the word of the ice shanty and well some people are closed minded about change and trying new or better or different things.
