Just got my new clam six pack a couple weeks ago. With only a flip over shanty and a old suitcase style before I had to figure out a good way to transport it and our gear with the new shanty. Well my wheels got turning and of coarse just a "plain" jet sled wouldn't do. So here is what I have come up with so far.
Needed somewhere for a couple pails for tip ups and fish and found these weed wacker hangers for a shed storage system at Walmart for $5 each and rivited straps to them. They also fold up for transport too.
Got a coat of paint on it
Decided 2 pails was not enough and could fit 4 so I could have bait pails on there as well
Built a smitty sled for it with quick disconnect straps so the jet sled can come inside the shack if I want and the kids can use it for a bench. Also will be able to interchange the smitty sled onto my other shantys if needed
Fully loaded for its maiden voyage.
Had my kid dragging it out for the first trip. Pulls like a dream
Now for the shanty. Love the new six pack. Only complaint is the same as others. Doors are a bit small....... But not a reason not to buy it. Goes up supper quick and easy and comes down the same. Tons of room inside. Supper nice fishing in lawn chairs
Got the whole family out this weekend and brought the camp table and stove to cook lunch on the ice.......not something I was able to do before.
Still more mods to work on to totally customize the sled but its working GREAT so far
