LX-5 Question
« on: Jan 28, 2013, 07:38 PM »
Just unpacked my new LX-5 and can't wait to use it! It says in the manual that the battery is sent fully charged.  Has anyone tried fishing with it right out of the box?  Did the battery last long?  Or should I charge it anyways just to be safe?

You have no idea how long it was just sitting around. Charge it, and go get them. Your going to love it.   I never go without mine.

I just bought an LX5 too.  I charged mine before using it.  It took a while for the led to go green.  You don't want the battery to deep cycle any more than necessary, so I'd say charge it.

I just replaced my battery after about four years of use.   I am not the best when it comes to battery maintenance so this should give you some idea of what you're looking to get out of it

It says fully charged but it will not be. I've heard reports on another forum of taking up to 36 hours for the battery to take a full charge. And marcum said that was normal :o

I read that it can take 3 or 4 charge and discharges before the battery really takes a good full charge.

Thanks guys. I put it on charge and it charged for 14 hours before it was fully charged. Glad I didn't just chance it, I guess it doesn't come "fully charged" like the manual says!!
