Alot of good ice on the river, tons of guys fishing and pulling lots of fish. i will be on the river all day tomorrow, and will gladly report back. With that being said still some iffy spots so use your head.

LOL! I gotta make it over there this winter, never have caught an eye through the ice! Went through the river this past October on our way to go kill divers but never have fished it. NEED to get up there!

Another site has reports of people fishing from Bay City to Saginaw. The Shiver on the River tourny along with a one day tourny in Saginaw starts this weekend so if you are planning on going, be advised it will be crowded. If you're not sure of where to fish, just drive along the river. With the crowds, it won't be hard to find the spots.

Got a pm from a friend at the other site and he limited out on walleye this morning. Unfortunatly, he didn't tell me where he was fishing

but he did say the ice was from 2-4 inches depending on how close he got to the main channel. The Bay City camera shows about a dozen or so shantys' on the ice this afternoon.

My friends went out of Veterans Park in Saginaw today, lots of fish, but lots of small ones. 3" of ice which is crazy to me, cuz if you fall through , they won't find you till spring. That current is strong, but they said it's a solid 3". I said "that's what she said!".

Ended up with 4. Caught a ton of fish, but alot right in the 15" range, not wanting to push my luck with on ice shrinkage, they all went back to grow. Sat on 3-4". The fish are hungry, I know where I'm spending the next two days.

I was out 1st street all day yesterday. Ice in the holes I drilled measured at 4.75''. Good clear ice too! Didnt have any reason to go to center of channel, but I'd expect it a little thinner there. Plenty of guys out in the dead center yesterday however. Only managed 2 keeps myself with a ton of shorts.
