can anyone tell me the reason why the derby has change this year.

Because they got sick of the past 3 years winners having to sell their ATV's and boats they won as prizes and having to come up with the taxes to pay for them if they didnt sell.

So all cash prizes now!

Dont even start the Tagged rainbow debate again...if you really want to know, go back and search through the previous posts...there are PAGES of arguments both for and against it.

there are several reasons but i think one of the biggest factors was the amount of people that were taking much better fish ( for example a 5 lb bow) and losing to a bow that was 1.5-2.5 lbs. It made for alot of upset people. Also where its a drawing now there will be less cheatinf and less pressure on rainbows

x2 on new rules sucking. biggest fish is biggest fish. none of this pulling names out of a hat bs. save that for random prize drawings!

I believe that the reason will eventually surface and it had to do with the stocking and purchasing of the tagged rainbows (main reason). The bickering between F&G and Rotary officials came to a head and the results are as you see them.
