Here is a new spot I've been trying to figure out this year. The green "spray paint" is some great, tall vegetation (milfoil) along a drop edge. The pink squares are proposed shanty locations. They're only about 50 feet apart, but because the milfoil is so tall (nearly to the bottom of the ice) I need to be on one side or the other.

Where would you fish and why? The deep side of the weeds (around 10 feet) or the shallow side (around 5 feet). The water is crystal clear.

Good question if i was there i would pick the pink square on the south side of the milfoil. Why because you have good access to deep water. To bad there wasn't cabbage weeds milfoil sucks. Try multiple spots in a day go portable just be sure to bring some brush.

I would split the difference and setup on the East end of the Milfoil bed. Approx. 8' of water, if I read your map right.
Catch any Pike cruising down either side of the Milfoil, still fairly close to  the deep water access from the S-SW, yet catch any fish also cruising in from the NW trough over the Carpet weeds.

If this is a lake you live near then get out the pan pole and find some dinks, once you find them get out the camera and find a good ambush spot like a pocket of no weeds in a field of weeds or a hump or dip works good and logs or boulders.

So with that said what about that shallow weedy northern bay, might want to scout out that area. One thing is 100% and that's that pike need food so if your not seeing fish food than its not going to be a good area.

I would start deep first. My opinion not gospel, large pike given a choice prefer deep access close. thats where they head when hooked.
To really go out on a limb, dead bait pike (non spearing here) have been in deepest areas even trenches or low spots when in shallow areas. The limb being if big pike are scavenging in deep water as  habit ( year round colder water preservation of dead fish)  it will have them cruising edge of drop and deeper. Proofs in the pudding though, good question.
Hole in ice attracts loose and dropped objects.
Value adds speed.

Out of the two choices i would go with the southern area... Personaly  (not knowing where the food is ahnging out) i would set up at the south west end of the tall weeds. If fish are hunting the tall weeds they all but have to go past you to get to the shallower water no matter witch way they travel the green finger. If the water is clear, there is also a good chance you will be the first thing they see.
