Ugh.......did Summit die off or something? Haven't seen anything lately about fishing conditions or if they are even biting.............any one have any information it would be appreciated...Bought some of the magic ice crawlers......going to give them a shot wed...........

for some reason everybodys real hush hush about summit when it comes to reports and what not. maybe they think its full of 10 inch gills still but who knows.......from what ive heard that lake gets hammered in the winter, when i fish there in open water i usually dont see many other people 90% of the time.......that lake used to have awesome gills and channels, i used to see guys at the cleaning station at night cleaning cats and there would 2 or 3 of them and have 20 fish....talk about pissed off!!! same with the gills.......i knew it wasnt gonna be good for long and sure enough bout 2-3 yrs later bye bye gills and cats. theres still some good cats in there but ur not gonna go and catch 10-15 in the 10lb range on most trips like before, now you may catch 3-4 on a good night...

I posted a detailed report about a trip there a bit back and agree 100% with fishsfan.  Isn't 20 fish for 2 or 3 guys over their limit?  Instead of being pissed I would be getting on the phone but that's just me.

I am no expert but you can still catch some decent fish but not like the good old days.

This is the second cycle of post-meat fishers lull since it was renovated.  Popularity will drop off again and hopefully as pressure drops the fishing will come back again in a couple of years.

I hear Wanahoo is great.  Cant wait to try it soon.

beleive me i called at least 6 or 7 times and only got an answer one time, waited there watching them clean fish for a half hour till they left and i stayed another hour almost and nobody ever showed. now when i was calling it was probally 2am or later but come on...really? i went a lil too far one night with my opinions to these 2 guys and lets just say if i wasnt carrying i probally would have got the s*** knocked out of me. i was gonna call that night but i was worried if somebody did show up with those two guys still there they woulda said i pulled a gun on em and they were minding  their own business or whatever so i decided it was just best for me to leave right away after that......ive called here in omaha quite a few times and when the CO never answers ive called the sherriff but they never show up, im guessing game and fish violations are not too high on their priority list wich pisses me off too, if someone calls and says someones in their shed stealing something they would be flying that way to bust em...i dont see any difference if someones keeping more than their limit of fish, if their over their limit them fish are not theirs legally and thats stealing to me.......im done ranting.......grrrrrrr rrrr lol!

At 2:00 a.m., you are probably going to have a hard time getting in contact with anybody, but I will say the same thing I always say:  Find the numbers and call, keep calling, call the supervisors, call.  And if that does not work, keep calling.

Ok...fished summit today...shallow to deep punched 70 plus holes from one end to the other...then had to go back to the other end to retrieve my auger.....Not one fish......  Marked some first thing....one bite then nothing the rest of the morning.....

It just plain sucked.........no wonder I couldn't get anyone to go with me.... Just frustrating....oh well

I was going to head out there with my brother this weekend but it sounds like I should look elsewhere. Anyone hear anything about DeSoto? (going to search it now).
