My New Homemade Sounder
« on: Jan 29, 2013, 06:36 PM »
After losing two sounders in two days I decided to make my own.

Total cost about $.35 with a 1oz bank sinker, you could probably get it down to a quarter using only 1/2 oz weight which should be perfectly fine.

You could even go with the small clips in a pinch.

I like these medium sized clips because I can secure them anywhere on my jacket, open them with heavy gloves on, and because it holds the hook perfectly every time.

All the sounders I see and end up buying have small jaws that are a pain in the ass to open, especially with cold hands.

I have some colored binder somewhere, a nice red color would be better than black for visibility.

Market this!  ;D

Well, the only thing I could do to make it a little better would be to drill a tinyl hole through the side of the clip so you could feed the hook point through it, then I could charge $1.89 for it, like the ones at Walmart.

 ;D ;D
