First day on Lake Ozonia
« on: Jan 05, 2013, 05:28 PM »
First day on the little lake! Got a late start n still managed to get a good eating size land locked salmon. Plenty of ice but not to many people, just the way i like it!

My buddy has a camp there. We are planning a trip for rainbows this winter. Any advice?

Skunked today on the lake! O well better than a good day at work!! The only advice i can give now is lite line small hooks n patience! In still new to the hard water trout fishing! I heard there r lakers in ozonia but I haven't seen or heard of anybody catching any threw the ice.

Ones that I have caught were near the big island as you head to it from the state launch. There are some good size perch in there also. Good luck and let us know how you make out when you try the lake out. Use light line for leader (4 lb) and small hooks. They could be at any depth. The water in that area is between 5 and 20 feet.
