Was there Saturday for about 6 hours. Not even a nibble. Slow for everybody there I talked to.

I've seen people post about Shabonna a lot, but I've never been there.  Is it worth driving from the Quad Cities to check it out, and what is the target species there?

Im also from the QC and I've fished Shabbona a few times but never through the ice.  I used to live closer to it and had a friend who lived about 25 minutes away.

It is a multi-species lake with big fish of just about all species that roam it (largemouth, walleye, crappie, Muskie, off the top of my head).  I've never had much luck, but have heard it can be very productive.

It gets a lot of fishing pressure.  It's a mess on weekends during the open water season.
