Swan Lake
« on: Jan 04, 2013, 03:41 PM »
Anyone know how the ice on Swan Lake is coming along?  A guy I work with said it had some ice on Wednesday.  I guess the best way to find out is to go up there, which I will do on Sunday.  Just thought I'd see if anyone had more info.

Drove by on wedesday, mostly froze over from six mile estate to the south.  Still patchy off the highway where they salmon fish. Walked out in the bay about 10 feet.  Would not be suprised if you could fish the bay, if a couple inches is good enough for you. Need some more of the east side cold!!!

Went by today, not much change from needin2fish's report...Looks like good clear ice on the north end of lake, still open water by the highway.  Cold last night had to help the south bay some.

If I\'m not fishing, I\'m probably thinking about fishing...And if I\'m thinking about fishing, I\'m probably not getting much else done so, I might as well go fishing...Yeah, I just said that!

That is for sure. No one to complain to that's going to listen to me.  Ice iwas just getting good here then lots of snow cover that hides the ice and pushed it down so now we have slush, white ice, very unsafe and no consistency.

I fished the southeast end of the lake today.  Variable to 4 inches of ice.  Definately some sketchy areas out there.  I was fishing on a solid 3.5 inches, however I did not even see a fish down the hole in the three hours I fished.  I was over weed beds in 8 to 20 FOW, not sure where those dang perch were.  Only my second time ever fishing this lake so I guess I just need to keep after it until I find a good spot.  There's your update folks.

there are some very thin unwalkable areas out there and supposed to snow this week so be careful.
