Otter fish house Not happy
« on: Jan 03, 2013, 02:27 AM »
For everyone that is buying a Otter fish house Resort. You will not get the cross link roto molded seats. If you do not have access to see them in person you would not know by the web site. It is not stated clearly.  The caddy will not work either. Also short hardware to install the shanty. With the seats installed the shroud will not work directly below them. It cannot clip to the sled. I contacted otter they really didn't care . Customer service is piss poor. Paper work inside said do not contact the dealer. Customer service at otter said tuff crap, contact the dealer to see what they will do.

I contacted Reed's a top notch company. They realized that they stated that it had a roto molded seat and rail. Offered to fix the issue. Because of shipping to Wyoming they would end up eating about 450 in shipping it back and a new one here They reduced the price and will correct the wrong advertising.

I know that all equipment and manufactures have issues. So it is the customer service that defines them.  Good customer service buys my loyalty.

Reeds will get my business in the future
1300 dollars of piss poor service = Otter will not. It bought poor customer advertising and reviews.

I have 3 Otter shacks. I had issues with the newest one the Cottage. The seat rail that it bolts to was bad from the get go. It wouldn't slide back or forth. I called Otter and had a new one in 2 days. Sorry to hear about your problem but they haven't let me down. But I see you got it from Reed's That there is a whole different story. I will never do anything with them again. It just goes to show you that everybody has different luck with different people.

Who did you talk to at Otter? I had an Issue with my Pro Lodge that I purchased this year called them up talked to Deb and it was like talking to a wall. I went to the St Paul MN Ice Show and Talked to Troy Tuffto and he got my problem solved. I dont know why people who dont care work in CS. I think that is BS

I had a good experience with Deb, and not so much at reed's a few years ago (more of the runaround then flat out bad service).

The fishing was good; it was the catching that was bad.

Well, I had issues with my Clam Pro TC when it first arrived. Bad bolts, but Clam shipped out new ones to me wen contacted. All companies have issues and it's the "customer service" which separates them. What multiplies the frustration is when you are on the receiving end of a mailorder item. All the time waiting for it to arrive, the anticipation of the item you've diligently researched finally getting here, and dang! When it comes you're disappointed! And NOW you have to wait AGAIN while the item is being shipped back and forth!  >:(

I believe Otter and Clam to be decent companies (along with Vex and Marcum  ;)) but sometimes one can pull his hair out with all of them!  >:(

Good luck to you sir!
