Isle Lamote
« on: Jan 02, 2013, 07:13 AM »
I started at Isle Lamote at about 10 am Tuesday.  There were a few guys on both sides of the bridge.  The ice as good.  Frozen slush on about 2.5-4 inches of good ice.  Seemed solid.  I fished for a hour no luck so I spoke to some guys they had only caught a few perch.  They all said last Friday was good, Saturday was alright but the bite had slowed (perch bite).  So I drove up to Dillenbech no one there and windy.  Drove South and saw no one at Paquettes and few guys on at Carry bay I did not see them doing much.  I then went to Pellots to fish out of the wind; but not good ice and fishing was slow.  I heard some guys on a wheeler went through at Carry on Sunday not in deep water.   And another wheeler went through somewhere else up in the Islands?  Anyway I will  continue my search for perch.  Good luck and tight lines to all be safe.

We didn't go out this weekend b/c we were worried about WALKING on the ice with all this snow.  It amazes me that people actually felt comfortable enough going out with a 4wheeler! Crazy, don't feel bad for them.

I fished Cary bay on monday and there was 2-3 inches of black ice with frozen slush on top.........if there was snow then there was slush under it.  The areas where the slush froze one needed crampons!

Certainly not safe for an ATV yet.  Some of that ice only froze in the last week!!

Be smart and check where you are going first and even better fish with a buddy!!

Good luck and be safe and smart out there!
The closest flag up may be the one that is behind you !

Just watched the guys on carry  from the truck.  They did not last long either.  They were all gone in hour.

It's not crazy, it's lazy!  Laziness knows no bounds!
