anyone headed out today?
« on: Jan 01, 2013, 07:12 AM »
I would like to check on ice progress again today in the northern rutland southern addison county are. Is anyone else doing the same? Wouldnt mind running into someone... this time of year I walk the line between bravery and stupidity because I fish alone.

be real careful out there especially if your out alone. I went out on a very small pond and barely had 2.5 to 3 inches of good ice. I caught one fish then went through someones hole from the day before and when I fell with my leg still in the hole my back side got wet. I spent the rest of my time in the portable drying off. I didn't want my buddy to suffer so I let him keep fishing. I hope this colder weather coming in will help for next weekend.

yeah man, I have my reservations about going on uncharted ice. checked somewhere the other day. Jigged a little bit in an entire 18inches of water. Ha! Stay dry.

checked fern lake. like swamp said, pretty sad. maybe 1.5 inches of black with the hard white slush on top. fortunately though, there is very little snow so these cold nights should have it in better order byt the weekend (fingers crossed)
