Welcome **censored** Jr
Today, Scuba and I aborted our mission to BP due to weather/roads
Reports lately are varied .....good & bad
Mid - March (before heavy current starts) can be boom or bust but you have to be out there to try!
All season, I've noticed that suspended fish
WON"T bite. All my hits/misses have been a few inches off the bottom (23 feet).
I also noticed that walleye usually move into shallower water at this time of year (12-16 feet).
I use 1/4 or 3/8 ozs fireball jigs with stingers in hot pink, blaze orange, chartreuse or white.........keep changing colour until you get a hit.
Salted minnows that are
FRESH from the store is key......anything else is a waste a time on the RED....the fish are finicky......for me.... at least.
I GIVE THEM WHAT THEY CRAVE
Big walleye have a tendency
NOT to hit hard but as my friend calls it "licking the minnows belly"
Be READY !
Dead sticks are out this year......keep your bait moving just slightly and when you feel the least resistance .......GIVE HIM THE HOOK.......
Good Luck out there....
