Last March nearing the end of the season I still had 2+ weeks before the deadline to get shacks off the lake. They were calling for a snow storm 12" The night the storm started I decided to go pull my shack off. As it turns out I made a very good decision. The snow was wet heavy drifts almost 2 feet and slush under the snow 8" thick. Then the warm up was so fast I may have had a new fish crib out there.

No disrespect to anyone here, because I've never had a bone to pick in this venue. But if this were open water I'd be looking for an IL sticker on the boat........... ;)

I was on the ice in that area over the weekend (Muskellunge north of ER), had 5+ Saturday going down to barely a good 4" by Sunday. Saw a 6 wheeler on that but at least they float.

Really, let's be careful out there.........

Went to the spear house this afternoon and low and behold if there wasn't a car parked out there on 6" of ice.
