WELL.... this has been an interesting two weeks !!! "SANDY" plus the Nor'Easter did a number on many of us down here in LI. Unfortunately, my power went out almost immediately, causing me to be unable to open my Automatic garage door and save my ice fishing gear. I took about 4-1/2 feet of water in the garage....it looks like a giant took the roomn and shook it for an hour......crap EVERYWHERE!! My Fish TV, Vexilar, Power Auger, and thousands of $$$$ worth of gear is ruined! Insurance company doesn't want to hear about it !! Haven't been able to reach my pop-up shelter yet to see what happened to that. Time for a SHOPPING SPREE......Look out Cabela's, Bass Pro Shops, Dick's, Gander Mtn........HERE I COME !!!

I'm a power lineman in Jersey and the damage is just unbelievable. Luckily for us we didn't have to deal with the flooding only the wind. On my 17th 16 hour day I believe( they all start running together) hope everything works out for you and have an easy recovery.

I think some of us fellow NYers should help out some of these guys. We all know what its like to not be able to get out fishing. Its very stressful! Maybe we can all get together and help out some of these guys by sending some of our old ice rods, reels, jigs, etc...

I want to thank all you guys for your kind offer of equipment. Things are not really so bad as I thought.....I just found two rods/reels in the garage that survived, and I can re-paint some of the messed up jigs, so I'm not so bad off. I'm gonna miss my Vex thought.....you come to depend on such things. That should be my first new purchase. Also, I can make up some basic tip downs out of scrap wood...that should cover me for awhile. Ice Fishing people are great!!!! I knew those offers would be coming.....maybe someone worse off than me can take advantage. Thanks a MIllion guys!!!
