With the warm weather approaching I just wanted to remind everyone to stay safe. For me the ice fishing is over until the cold weather comes back in a few weeks.

Please if you decide to go out have a partner, ice picks, whistle, floatation suit, etc. and use common sense.

Agreed! Doug, have you seen any cold weather coming?  End of the month or early Feb maybe?

The days have been getting longer for the past 10 days. This warm is going to put a hurt on the season. Do it right, do it safe, don't do it alone, someone may not find you till its a recovery instead of a rescue. Might just dig the boat out of the snow and get it ready.

I was looking at the long range forecast which could be wrong.

It didn't show anything great but it did show it would get colder towards the end of the month. I'm thinking glass half full.

i'm off the ice for a good ten days until we get another solid cold snap. until then, its open water musky fishing
