The challenge of the hunt
« on: Jan 22, 2017, 09:39 AM »
One of the things I love about fishing is the challenge of the hunt. Fishing for perch and walleye mostly, the approach, location can change daily, if not hourly, in order to be successful.
For me at least, I enjoy this challenge.

I fished Holter yesterday and tried a new location. It didn't work out. The fish weren't there (near as I could tell).

So, today, it's back to the drawing board. Watching some perch videos, learning more about behavior in different conditions, how to better read topo maps, trying to glean some knowledge to put into practice next time.

Don't get me wrong, I love catching fish too.  :)

Yep. Three times so far this year. First day was good. Last two have been not good and was the reason for this post, haha. Spent some time getting "edumacated".

How about you?

Yes, have also made a couple of trips.  One solo.  Leaving really early and back in the evening.....my wife has been very understanding 😆.  Done well on Perch, but would like to figure out those Eyes.  I have only fished the immediate Log Gulch area though.  Would like to try a couple soft water spots, but have not crossed the lake.

Haha, yep. My wife told me this morning that I have an addiction. She is threatening to get me "help".
