Robbi,

Did you get my PM about the Navionics map?  Yours for the asking, you name the terms.

My boat is at the marine mechanic right now and I'll pick it, with it's me to us trailer under it, tomorrow.  I got all the mechanical stuff checked out and tuned up.  Big plans for using it this summer all over the state and maybe out of state too.  Now it's time for the accessories.  New Lowrance HDS 7 Gen 2 with mapping software as well as structure scan and a Minnkota Terrova bow mounted trolling motor with iPilot and universal sounder transducer.  I'll up grade each one of those one per month as I can afford them.  I also have to re-rig and learn how to work the down riggers that came with my boat.

Jay,

Let me know if I can be of any help with the downriggers...I have a little experience with them... ::)

I have to put new oil in my gear case, get sea foam and get a new tank of gas setup to get rid of any crud in the engine, replace and repack my trailer bearings and get two new batteries for the boat hauling truck and two new batteries for my fish finder. I also have to clean out the inside of my boat. So I have a ways to go before I am ready.

There is wire on them (no idea how much) but no terminal gear and I have no balls (yes I know what I said) or releases or instructions.  I'd sure like to learn how to use them.

Jay-there just has to be a country song in what you just said. I'd say-as long as you have a boat and like to fish, you're ok, regardless of the other thing.

So you have wire on your balls, and as soon as you can get them released, you will learn how to use them?

If they used standard wiring convention for your trailer, the problem is the brown wire Nic- it's the running light wire. It junctions to go to both sides, so look for one of those crimp-on connectors in the tongue and you should find the problem.

Replaced all four bearing assemblies on the trailer today. I hate knocking out and re-installing races on this trailer, it takes forever! Just need to get the engine gear case filled up, make a tank of sea-foam enriched gas, and put new batteries in the truck & fish finder and then I should be ready to go for the season. Oh and I need to buy a set of oars for the no motor lakes.

Went to Townsend and got the boat back on the new (to me) trailer.  It pulls like a dream and looks good too.  Time to get it out on the water and see how the tune up and changes they made are.  Next up for installation is a new trolling motor (April) and then a Lowrance HDS7 Gen2 with Insite mapping (May) and the Lowerance Stucture Scan (June).  Should have the boat up to my spec's by mid summer and ready for making some long trips for big fish!

Jay

P.S.  I have a used trailer to get rid of now.  Would be great for hauling a little 12-14 foot boat around.
