where is your tourny?

I always wonder about using corn to chum the hole

it's at sibbald point provincial park on lake simcoe. and for perch i just can't seem to get any perch bigger than 12.5 inchs to bite, and i have seen some nice bigger ones. only ten fish can be weighed per team or solo

Good luck at the tournament.
You better bring a rope & anchor to secure yourself in place though with 40-50 mph winds forecasted for tomorrow.
I would not expect a high turnout if it's not cancelled.

just got back fom the touny. man the wind was howling. seen 2 clam pop ups take flight and one looked like it broke like a popsickle stick. the gusts i heard was up to 80kph. did not do good at all got skunked. current was crazy, trying to fish in 18 fow and my line was 60 feet behind us, and normally there is no current the area. there was like 202 teams out there today. but besides all that was a lot of fun. i will do it again next year.

Ive been in your boat get all pumped about a fishing tourney and the day of get skunked and the wind blowing like crazy. Every ice tournament ive done this year has been windy as heck all over 25mph winds in every one. Heck seems like everytime i go out fishing this year the wind has to blow at least 20mph. What were you using for your jig?

jigs i threw everything i had at them. jigs from jammin jigs, swedish pimples, some berkley power bait jigs, pk lures, rapala jiggn raps, slab grabbers and plain ole hook minnow and sinker. treid all jigs not tipped and tipped with minnows, half minnows, minnows heads and salties, berkley power grubs & maggots. just could not entice them to bite or anything. and to boot after the tourny we go back to my buddies house to warm up and go back out just down the road from his house, maybe 3km from the tourny grounds, out there for couple hours and we caught 30.

Thats how it is where i live in Southwest Wyoming, WINDY. I dont know what I would do with a calm, sunny day on the ice
