Whitemouth lake
« on: Feb 21, 2012, 06:23 PM »
Fished whitemouth lake sat/mon. Caught limits with 4 guys sat. Took all day, but didn't matter was great day to be on the ice.Monday was much slower, still managed our limits, 2 guys. Heard reports of people fishing all day without a bite. Gotta move and drill lots of holes. Also noticed people using more than 2 lines each. 3 guys/12 lines, 4 people easily had 20 lines, is this really necessary. I guess the feeling is your not breaking the rules unless you get caught.  JUST A THOUGHT!  People we should also clean up our garbage on the ice.

Nicely done, we got to the sandbar by Birch so we never went. Did the CO give you a visit to? Sounds like they need to visit Whitemouth more. He was visiting with us on Sat at Birch.

If that were the case he could be there every day ! To many people getting limits with WAY to many lines , not that you can't with two rods per person as some are proveing as per post , just some folk need a good ass kicking ! Another reason I don't lke the lake , no regard to a great fishery that will go bad sooner  or later .

The group beside us at birch got busted for barbs and to many lines!  They also kept a 44 and 42 to eat! Not psyched about that

I was there last saturady after the big snowfall. You need a sled or a 4wd drive truck but with either of those you could still drive anywhere you wanted but the fishing was terrible.

Don't think we got enough snow to change that much since then but the wind probably created some pretty good drifts out there so you'd have to keep an eye out.
