Caught me a mouse
« on: Feb 21, 2012, 06:29 PM »
I had laid a couple FRABILL DAWG BONE tip ups on the freezer out in a garage and the kids just came in and showed me that I had a catch.

Only thing I can think was a small piece of worm was left on hook.

Jeez...That mouse on the tip up has my brain working overtime now.  ;)
Mouse patterns are my favorite thing to use on a small desert river not far from here.

Nice job on the new mouse trap invention. I had a mouse running around in my boat last year. When i finally got a hold of him I just tossed him over board. Watched him just about make it to shore and then WHAM pike bait. I looked for 10 min for another mouse to use for bait. But never found one.

I know of a small lake that that mouse pattern would work great on, but I am lazy tying flies so I resort to a large yellow foam spider. That is if you can find the pre-made bodies any more.

I have caught a few brown trout on deer hair mice. And once caught a 13 inch brookie from a little beaver pond that had a meadow vole in his gut.
