Circus Derby
« on: Feb 24, 2012, 01:18 AM »
Figured it should be started now.  I personaly do not have a radio that recieves 5.5.  However, I do have a Blackberry that I can check IS.  Let's keep it offiical so short fish can go back into the drink.  (Weights and lengths.... biggest/smallest.....highest lb/low lb.... please)

LT= lake trout
RT= rainbow trout
CK= cusk
YP= yellow perch
etc.

Please be honest and update with reputable info ASAP . (Not all of us have Moto 5.5)

Good luck everyone and stay safe.
Please PM me for my phone #.  its looking like i'm flying solo for the weekend and I sure would like some texting/fishing buddies

My buddy Roger ended up with first for rainbow with a 3.46 pound fish. My son had quite a day with this 22 inch rainbow. Longer then the rest on the board but it looked spawned out, I mean really odd shaped for a fish of that size. He stayed on the board in 3rd until the last ten minutes then got bumped. I can tell you for sure, he's got the fever now!! It was great meeting members from the Shanty and the Circus out there. Big fish and new friends . . . can't beat it.

Nice fish!  ;D That one does have a big head for it's body. Wonder if it had a plastic of something in it's belly?

Was this fallfish the bait or did you catch it? I've used fallfish that big for Pike... they're also yummy cooked into fishcakes!

the circus was a blast over the weekend, i fished friday, sat. and sunday. the fish were really biting friday and but sat. slowed down a lot and sunday sucked. my buddy and I both made the board on sat and stayed on the board until sunday mid day when we both got bumped. i had second then it got bumped to third on sunday and eventually was bumped for good it was a 20.5 LT 2.40 lbs. my buddies was a 24.5 in cusk he was in first place overall for a awhile on sat but then he got bumped right off on sunday, over all the fishing sucked, the weather sucked and the turnout sucked, but at least i had good company and had a good time regardless!

I'm starting to notice your obsession with Fallfish.  :roflmao:

They are actually a nice flaky white meat, though.
