I will be going up to Waubay later this evening.  The weather has been steady the last week from what I've heard - so hopefully the fishing will be good.  Everything I've been told still indicates the best bite is early morning b/f sunrise and right after and then towards evening hours.  I'd be fishing in the 17-22' range.. prolly would be the best!  Good luck if anyone will be fishing Waubay this weekend....

Fished yesterday"sunday".started at whitewood, saw alot of fish and a few morons.guy had his truck out in the middle of the lake until about 3pm....pretty close to where the 2005 ford was resting on the bottom from the day before.when he finally headed for shore ,at 70 mph,the front started to go down then the rear bumper would slam down into the ice, launching him back on top .this happened at lease 3 times as he made his way to shore.lucky sob.saw a 4 wheeler pulling a trailer go down as well, pretty sure its still in the ice as well.ended up on thompson, caught some eyes and crappies.saw a 8 pound plus walleye caught.hows the ice on waubay?

Waubay ice was 26 in. Swan was 24 in. Stay away from heaves and it will be OK to drive on. Some people think driving fast is better. As you and I know SLOW is better.

Stumper-- Why is there so little trafic on the S.D. site? There are hundreds of fishermen [and women] on the ice as we speak. Some , if not most , have the net---I'm sure.
