Ashulot Pond Heads up (Pics)

Team- I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone who was fishing Ashulot Pond this weekend for the Washington Ice Fishing Derby. This is how the boat launch looks (see pics) accessed from the Marlow road at 7:30 this morning and it will not get better. The current from the river comes in from the left. I wouldn't head out from this spot. It looked bad. There is another access point from the Washington Town side which I never used and you would have to check the map. Not trying to scare any one away just didn't want any one to make the drive there and not get out. Good Luck.

Forgot to mention that crossing the dam and getting on to the lake is no longer an option. There is a fence around it with a gate and it would a major effort to get around it with ice fishing gear. Years ago when we had the fall flood someone cut the lock and opened the gate to let the lake level down and caused major flooding downstream. One of my friends lost his Harley. They never found out who did it. Too bad.
