Lake Osakis
« on: Feb 14, 2012, 09:18 PM »
I fish Lake Osakis quite a bit during the summer and was wondering how the ice fishing on this lake has been with in the past few years. Havent been up there ice fishing for quite a few years and was thinking about heading back up there in a year or 2.

The ice fishing varies from year to year. Last year not so great, this year has been pretty good. Depends on what your fishing for also. Walleyes are still on the bite this year. Haven't started searching for the crappies or sunnies yet since the walleye season is still open. I'll start looking for them after next Sunday. Perch are just about everywhere. Just sat out there yesterday afternoon and caught about 50-60 perch while I was waiting for the sun to get lower in the sky for the walleye to start. Just about all were in the 8-10 inch range. Still have around 19-20 inches of ice in the areas I have been hitting.
