how did you come across iceshanty.com?

just read in a post about someone asking another person how they came across the great site.  i would like to know how you all came across it.  it was mentioned on another site that i am a member and i decided to check it out and loved it.  been addicted ever since :D

To tell you the truth...   I have no clue how I found this site.  Must searched something or another and ...there it was....   :P    I think my wife wished I never found it..   ;D

I just stumbled onto it last Winter while Google searching some fishing info sites. Followed it over to the soft water MyFishFinder companion site in the Spring and have also been addicted to these sites ever since.

Was out in Nebraska dreaming of moving back to maine. It was like in February of 2001. I was bummed bc it was ice fishing season in maine and i desperately wanted to be out on the ice back in my home state. So i was online checking around for ice fishing related stuff and low and behold  ICESHANTY.COM pops up
Been addicted ever since..    My wife hates it ;D

Someone from the site was selling a power auger on ebay and had a link in his auction. Never got the auger from him but I feel I still got a heck of a DEAL!

Searched for a lake here in Wisconsin and somehow found a link. Never looking back. There's rarely a need to search the web for fishing info anymore  :D

I found IceShanty.com when I was looking for general information about Cazenovia Lake, NY...I have never fished Caz, but I'm hopelessly addicted to this site!  ;D

New York used to have a web site on the DEC web and they stopped using it but put a link to iceshanty.com and thats all she wrote

Well, I hope they keep not doing IceShanty as well as they have been doing so far.  ;)
It's my favorite (non-DEC) ice fishing resource . . .

A true story. While ice fishing with my brother and nephew 3 years ago, we started ridiculing some of the website names we'd heard of. My nephew joked that you could probably type in www.baitbucket.com and get hits. While attempting to prove his theory, I got no hits for baitbucket.com, but then started trying other equipment names in front of .com until I got hits. Needless to say, I am glad that I ran with his joke, and that I thought to use iceshanty.com as just a random try. What I found was not a joke, but the most enjoyable site I have ever used on a computer.
