That one brings back memories. Used to watch Monty Python after Saturday Night Live, way back when. Can't stay up that late anymore. Now I'm getting up to go fishing about the time I used to go to bed.  :)

Oh yea REB, my Mom made killer Spam sandwiches when I was a kid. She would grind the Spam up with the old fashioned hand crank meat grinder then mix it with mayo and some chopped onion, put that on halved rolls and put a piece of Velvetta cheese on each little sandwich. Baked them in the oven til golden brown and bon apetite. I still make them today but they aren't as good as the ones Mom made ;D

Yep, spam & velveeta sandwiches when I was a kid.
Fried spam & eggs for breakfast as a teen.

Now,
Anytime I have the smoker fired up, there's always a block or 2 of SPAM tucked into a corner.
Smoked Spam, give it a try.  ;)
If you ever get hit with a bucket of fish, be sure to close your eyes. ;)

How do you go about smoking Spam? It sounds great I might just have to try it this weekend. Do you put a rub on it or just throw it in?

Fried spam is pretty good, but no onions for me.

Grilled cheese & spam sammich is good too.

I just throw it in.
You could use a rub, but I'd go with a sweet rub, rather than a salty one...
plenty of salt in there already.  :P

And it won't take as long as the 'main' meat you're smoking...a good appetizer until the main course is done.
just keep an eye on it & don't let it dry out too much.
You can cut it in half after it's smoked for a while to check the smoke penetration & moisture.
If you ever get hit with a bucket of fish, be sure to close your eyes. ;)

spam brand or the imitation. fried up crisp with an egg, slice of swiss cheese on toast with catsup, hotsauce and mayo.  fried onions on top. killer eats.
.
cubed and fried with taters and onions.
.
any way but the slimey jelly from the can cold.     reminds me of the old rats from the service. lima beans and ''M02@^#$*&-ckers''. couldn't add enuff hotsauce to kill off the taste/texture.

I have not eaten that stuff for 40 -45  years ago. The last time I saw someone eat that stuff was in the mid 90's while deer hunting in WV. A good bunch of good old boys pulled up to me on a logging road while I was dragging out my biggest WV buck and 8 pt with a 17 1/2 inch spread. They cut up a couple of cans on spam and latherd it up with Miracle whip on white bread, lol I can still see the mayo on their faces lol. After they ate lunch and offered me a beer they put the deer on there modified 4 wheeler and drove me to my tent camp about 3/4 of a mile,a bunch of nice guys. The only thing that got me was they wanted to BUY my deer, they where entered in several big buck contest and said the deer would win them all. Well to make a long story short the deer went home with me to Pa.
