white perch mount
« on: Feb 09, 2012, 07:36 PM »
i decided to mount a white perch i caught for the "man cave"  I am by no means a taxidermist, so we added the google eyes and an old root for the base. Didnt come out bad for my first ever attempt haha

For a first mount, that's pretty impressive. If you get the right size artificial fish eyes instead of whatever that is you used, and add some silver paint it would look A LOT better. I'm not  a taxidermist either, but it has been my hobby for many years.

I've been doing taxidermy 31 years now and the mounting process is easier than people think.  I didn't say it's easy.....just saying easier than one might think.  When it comes to fish customization which is what I specialize in, the most difficult aspect to learn is the painting.  Having said that, I do see potential with these mounts. Good luck and keep on practicing.
